  I just asked the JW website for a home visit...

  i just went and filled out the form asking to be visited.

  i hope they come soon so i can work my super apostate magic!

  uh, if the super apostate magic doesn't work, i'll just let my huge great danes out onto the porch and freak the witnesses out followed by kicking them off my front porch... .

  I am still "in", but if I were out and didn't know the local conned-green-nation I'd do it and look at it as a win win.

  You'd be messing with them (WIN) and be waisting some dumbass pious-sneer pointless "hours" (win).

  just think 2,000 years ago jesus stood on a plank above the sarlacc pit.

  then he spun around and jumped back up onto the skiff where peter threw him his lightsaber from pilate's sail barge.

  after slaughtering the guards he and the apostles sped away, but not before they turned the main deck gun down at pilate's barge.

  basically it is a congregational effort to get as many people as possible to make a full day of "field service".

  Feeling a little weird today

  hello everybody, so i've been out of the wt for almost a year now.

  i did go to the memorial last year, but that was pretty much the last meeting i attended.

  thing is, as a born-in, i have never missed one, this will be the first.. don't get me wrong, i have absolutely no desire to go back, but after all these years there's a weird feeling about it.

  Easter, The Passion, Bunnies and Chocolate.

  the first most important thing is that we have a loooooooooong weekend to chill, take in the sunshine (cos it's going to be hot in durbs).

  the second most important thing is chocolate this year!

  i've already had chocolat cake, chocolate covered marshmellow eggs and chocolate :) all notions of healthy eating - outta the window.. i know there is a ton of stuff on christ's death and resurrection - what i will watch are probably the doccies that go more into the facts and details of that time period - dstv (our sa cable) usually shows a number of these shows, find them very fascinating.. so to the christians that celebrate their lords death and resurrection - happy easter.

  the resurrection of jesus is at the heart of the christian faith.

  "but if it is preached that christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

  if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even christ has been raised.

  KM Sermon for April, "We are providing a Public Service"

  just thought about the suggested sermon for the april magazines in the km.

  it suggests that jw say that they are doing a public service.. a public service, is a service that is rendered by the government.

  doesn't that writing commitee know the meaning of such words.. i wonder if they are trying to mislead by using this wording, or, they just don't get it..

  I would not be surprised if it is an intentional twist on words.

  The appropriate wording should be we are performing a private recruiting ritual in public; it’s truthful and yet retains wash-towel’s ambiguity.

  The Governing Body Paradox

  after briefing reading the original post on this thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/224030/1/do-i-have-this-right i asked myself the following question:.

  the watch tower bible & tract society publishes in its writings, as of late, that the governing body/faithful & discreet slave must be obeyed to gain jehovah's salvation and favor.

  the gb/fds are comprised of imperfect, spirit guided men whose teachings are to be accepted as truth.

  In cult-land you are on a continuous loop of dammed if you do and damned if you don't; so no matter what YOU do you're wrong and are never really right.

  It’s how they keep you constantly wrapped around their finger and "doing more" in hopes of gaining salvation; the catch 22 is that according to them you can never do enough nor the right thing, and especially not without them.

  So now let’s all be thankful they are here to show us how to wipe our ass the correctly incorrect way.
